What makes Tring so special?
The answer is everything about it.
Tring is unique (there's no other place in the world called Tring).
It is a traditional market town with a real heart at the centre of an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Chiltern Escarpment.

The green centre of Church Square surrounding the ancient church of St Peter and St Paul is the nucleus of the town. Traditional independent shops of every kind can be found, as well as cafes, restaurants, bars and the wonderful Natural History Museum. It's a walk about town – best seen by strolling – it sits comfortably in its traditional borders with England's green and pleasant land on every side.

Tring Park takes you up to the edge of the Chiltern Ridge. The Ridgeway guides you to the heights of Ivinghoe Beacon or the chalk downlands towards Wendover. The nature reserve around the reservoirs and the canal walks that connect them form a haven for wildlife and England's oldest trout fishery is a part of this complex.

Wherever you look you will find heritage gems to explore. The landscape is inviting and gentle. Whether you're a cyclist, a walker or a horse rider, you will find access easy and well signed. There's a saying here that the people who come to Tring stay in Tring, and a brief visit will demonstrate the truth of that.

Tring Together successfully received funding from The Quality Of Place Programme, a regional grant scheme operated by the East of England Development Agency and Action for Market Towns, to produce the Tring Days Out book. We would like to thank Tring Town Council and Dacorum Borough Council for their additional sponsorship of this project. Tring Days Out has been produced by a team of local writers who know and love the area.
